You can step back in time at the Arigna Mining Experience and tour the original structures of the original mines, marvel in the exhibition area which is full of old equipment and historical documents. If its history you enjoy, you will be moved and touched after a day at the National Famine Museum in Strokestown, its not just like any other tour, its a touching journey relating to forced immigration and their 165km journey on foot to the Dublin Docklands where they boarded one of the famine ships over to Liverpool. Strokestown Park and House are also located here, along with a lovely little café in case you need a drink or snack. If you would like to stay closer to home, Roscommon Abbey and Loughnane Park are right on our doorstep, take a leisurely stroll through the grounds, take a seat on a park bench and simply watch the world go by.
