National Play Day at Lough Key Forest & Activity Park (July 2nd)
Roscommon County Playday is this Saturday the 2nd of July from 12pm – 4pm at Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle, Co. Roscommon. There will be fun and games for children to support the theme of the day, ‘All Play Together’. There will be Arts & Crafts, Music Generation workshops, Outdoor Play workshops for parents, FAI Football & Roscommon Sports Partnership workshops, Lego block building for babies, storytelling, Sticky kids, face painting and mindfulness for teenagers. Registration is necessary.
A day at the races (July 4th Ladies Day)
Get your glad rags on for Roscommon Races Ladies Day this Monday the 4th of July. Enjoy a great day out with friends and family and dress to impress to be in with a chance to win best dressed. There are four more races planned for the season, 2nd, 15th and 29th of August and the 26th of September

Boyle Arts Festival 14th -23rd July

The O’Carolan Festival of Harp and Traditional Music (Jul 25th – Aug 1st)
Held in the small village of Keadue Roscommon every August Bank Holiday since 1978, is The O’Carolan Harp and Traditional Music Festival. Celebrating the famous Harper Turlough O’Carolan who lived in the area and is buried beside Keadue. The Festival includes Concerts, Ceili, Tuition on the Harp, Set Dancing, Harp Recitals and a Harp Competition. To find out more click HERE
Heritage Week (August 13th – 21st)
Celebrate all things heritage in Roscommon this August during Heritage week. Events and planning are still taking place with new events being added in the upcoming weeks, we are looking forward to more in person events to celebrate and bring together communities, families, organisations, cultural institutions, academics and enthusiasts, to build awareness about the value of heritage and support its conservation. Roscommon Industrial & Agricultural Show (August 20th)
The show is back after two years of being missed. A great day out for the family, with lots of classes to enter in farm and garden produce, arts and crafts, photography and of course livestock competitions with horses, cattle, goats, ponies, sheep and not forgetting the dog show.
