Some of the nice things our customers say about us…
Roscommon should be very proud of their representatives Mary and Eamonn of Gleeson’s Townhouse and Restaurant. Once again, there was nothing ‘common’ about their fantastic chowder! We are looking forward to your next visit to our beautiful town. – Kinsale’s Good Food Circle
We, my wife and I would highly recommend this place to stay whist you are in Roscommon or Ireland: We booked this at short notice whist travelling through Ireland on a Motorbike. The hotel staff had a safe and secure place to store my motorbike. The whole staff were extremely friendly as are most Irish people, the rooms were clean, comfortable, with copious amounts of hot water. The hotel comes with onsite cafe which serves all sorts of cakes: highly recommend the Treacle Scones: plus coffee & tea as we wished during the day. The staff including Anne and Ken who served us during the evening meal were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, they made us both feel as were part of the family: thank-you. – Andy and Belinda, Manchester
This is a family run hotel with a warm and friendly atmosphere where we were treated like old friends the minute we stepped inside the door. The reception area is more like a living room inviting you to linger over a coffee or two with a view out to the patio which but for the rain would have been a pleasant place to sit also. Our room was attractive and spotless with an excellent shower and my bed, and especially the pillows, were perfection, no noise from outside and I slept like a log. We had our evening meal and lunch the next day at the restaurant and found the food and the service to be very good. No negatives about this place at all. – Mrs Overstone, London
I have stayed here three times, and I must say it is my favourite hotel in Ireland, staff are great, Eamon Mary and Cait, are fantastic hosts, and very helpful! Rooms are stunning, food is fantastic, chef went out of way as we were late for breakfast but it was no problem, great people great hotel. – Paul H, Co. Mayo
Great Irish family hospitality. The food was fabulous, regardless if your wanting a scone and coffee or a steak dinner and service impeccable. They have a great outside courtyard landscaped beautifully with flowers perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee and Ireland majestic mornings. Thank you, Sincerely! – Chris & Matt McLaughlin
We called in here for breakfast this morning with our toddler daughter. Staff were lovely and food was beautiful. I had the fry which wasn’t greasy at all. The rashers in particular were beautiful, excellent quality and not fatty. We are locals so we will definitely be back again. Read More>>
Called into Gleeson’s on the way home from a walk, without booking. We just had mains; slow cooked lamb roulade (just so tender, and lovely flavour) and chick pea curry (very tasty). Excellent food at reasonable prices. We will visit again. Read More>>
Attended here last weekend for the afters of a wedding. They are a beautiful venue with great social distancing and cleanliness procedures in place. They had a room set up for the group with social distancing in place and provided a beautiful lay out of food and no shortage of it either. Staff were very friendly and looked after the group very well. The owner was involved in the running of our event and she was so friendly in welcoming everyone and making sure everything was okay. She runs an excellent business. The p;ace seemed renovated and was so well decorated both inside and outside. Would definitely come here again for food if in the Roscommon area. Read More>>
Overall this restaurant is very inviting, comfortable, spacious, cosy and clean. Plenty of tables and seating in a lovely environment. It has a home from home feel and lovely decor.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch from a very extensive menu plenty of choices to suit all tastes and generous portions.
What makes this restaurant a great choice for dining be it either a business meeting or a casual meeting of friends is without question the attention given by the staff. We enjoyed a birthday gathering of friends and we felt like vip’s as our every choice and taste was met with great efficiency not to mention a beautiful surprise at the end of our meal with ” Happy birthday” sung by the staff carrying out desert and candles! We did not expect this at all which put a smile on our faces, just goes to show there are still people in this world who will go the extra mile to give customer satisfaction, it was very much appreciated by us and the birthday girls! We cannot recommend this restaurant enough! We also left with lots of lovely baked goods too! Read More>>
On a wet November evening travelling back from Knock to Dublin we luckily went to Gleesons for sustenance. The warm fire, the warm smiling receptionist, and fab warm food and the warm waiter with a great sense of humour that could not do enough for us. Excellent food, service and facilities and the gift of the beautiful bakewell tart as we were leaving was a lovely touch that we had with our coffee 2 hours later when we got home. Thank you Gleesons you made our trip easier. Read More>>
