Museum
At Rathcroghan Visitor Centre, visit the interpretive museum filled with exhibitions on our medieval ancestors, the iron age and the role of Rathcroghan in the Táin Bó Cúailnge (Cattle Raid of Cooley),and Queen Medb’s struggle against the might of Cú Chulainn and the Ulaid (Ulstermen). It is also home to 35 pieces of artifacts discovered on this ancient Roscommon landscape, these pieces depict the lifestyle of our ancestors. Enjoy the interactive exhibits and audio-visual presentations on display at the Museum at the Rathcroghan Visitor Centre or go all in for a guided tour.
Guided Tours at Rathcroghan
Discover the historic landscape and journey through time to explore the Rathcroghan Mound and the surrounding monuments. Listen to stories from the past and learn more about the Neolithic Period, Bronze Age and Iron Age. The tour then continues to Ireland’s very own “Gate to Hell” called Oweynagat. During Halloween Rathcroghan Visitor Centre offers a unique tour called “The Origins of Samhain Oweynagat Cave Tour” annually this exciting tour books out fast and is an excellent time of year to visit the mystical Roscommon.
