Christmas at Gleesons is charming and olde worlde, like stepping into a Christmas card from times past. The time-honoured townhouse lends itself perfectly to yuletide decoration and it’s easy to believe that the open fireplace welcomes Santa himself every year. A lunch/dinner Christmas menu is now available for pre-booked groups – a perfect traditional pre-Christmas meal out.
The Christmas menu, served in the Manse Restaurant, is based around classic festive fare prepared by an accomplished kitchen team. Starters include festive soup of the day, delicious stuffed garlic mushrooms and the perennial favourite, chicken and ham vol au vents. For the main course, traditional turkey and ham with all the trimmings is ever popular, with fish and vegetarian options on offer as well as prime sirloin steak. Gleesons own homemade Christmas Pudding has been a mainstay of desserts since the townhouse opened, with lighter sherry trifle and cheesecake also on offer. Diners can choose either two or three courses, both served with a welcoming glass of mulled wine with aromatic seasonal spices and either tea or coffee afterwards.
Available either at lunch or dinnertime seven days a week, the Christmas menu must be pre-booked. It’s the perfect choice for a work Christmas get together or a gathering of friends to celebrate the season. A full bar is also available.
Gleesons is open to overnight guests all over the festive season with the exceptions of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and St. Stephens Day.
